What do you think about Christian radio stations having to give equal time to anti-christian or opposing views

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Should Christian stations have to share their owned equipment and staff with other views, even anti-christian in the name of "fairness?"

Reagan killed the Fairness Doctrine.

They are under no legal obligation to allow anyone to refute their lies.

Ruth is quite wrong. There are a few listener-supported stations, but as a media insider I can tell you Clear Channel Corp is raking in big bucks with its series of "Hallelujah FM" stations across America. They don’t allow preachers, just play music, and force the churches to buy advertising instead of giving free announcements.

The funniest thing about the Fairness Doctrine is how ignorant of its demise many rightwing Christians are. My friends in radio say they are constantly bombarded with calls from Christians demanding equal time. They not only want it both ways, they want it ALL ways.

Toad, NPR has gone right wing. Bob Edwards was forced out. The current hosts are drones, pandering to the right.

Christian radio often talks about how bad Planned Parenthood is?

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Do you agree that it is a bad thing? Or on the other hand have you had a postive experience in dealing with Planned Parenthood? If you like them why? If you dislike them why?

Planned Parenthood is a wonderful resource! I went to one when I was younger and didn’t have health insurance for a gyn exam and it was one of the most positive medical experiences I’ve ever had. They took an incredibly thorough medical history (better than my current doctor’s office did) and offered counseling for some past issues that I had had. (But they didn’t push when I said that counseling wasn’t necessary – just told me it was available if I ever changed my mind). The PA explained everything she did and answered all my questions – and then called me the next day to follow up on the appointment.

In short, they were everything we should be entailed to by the medical community but rarely actually get!

How is Xmas music played on a secular radio station different from Xmas music played to Christian radio statio?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

n?
I typed Xmas instead of Christmas because I didn’t have enough room to type the whole question if I typed out "Christmas"

Someone please tell Sarah that people type "Xmas" because they are lazy and don’t want to spell out the whole word.

Kind of like typing "r u" instead of "are you".

Not everything in this world is a conspiracy to destroy Christmas as we know it.

As for the main topic, I suppose you have more "joke" songs on regular radio, you know, like funny versions of the Twelve Days of Christmas, whereas on christian radio, the mood is somber and respectful. (And, truthfully, kinda boring. I like the Chipmunks and Grandma getting run over by a reindeer.)

What kind of programing would you like on Christian Radio?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

Setting music aside s the norm, what topics, subjects would you like to see addressed?

God’s unconditional love and his grace. Jesus came to heal the broken hearted. Words and scriptures of hope and good news for them. When its it that man seeks God? When they are down and broken hearted, that is what a good christian radio program should preach about. I know by experience that when I hear a preacher speak about hope, strength, God’s love and mercy, the peace of Jesus covers me completely and a light starts shining in my life and I can see opened arms embracing me assuring me that everything is going to be o.k. because He is in control
