What should I major in to write and perform contemporary christian music?

I really want to write and perform contemporary christian music as a future career. What should I major in to do this?

You should probably major in music or music education. What’s your backup plan? You might want to consider getting an education degree or whatever is needed to become the music director at a church so that you can support yourself in case you aren’t able to do so as a performer.

    Try finding a college or university that teaches contemporary music in performance, composition and production. You can apply that to Christian music.
